Allen B. Adler's Obituary
Allen Bernie Adler, 87, of Collierville, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
A graveside service will be held to celebrate Allen’s life on Saturday, June 21, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Memphis, TN. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, followed by the graveside service to be conducted by Buster Clemens and Eric Gentry at 10:00. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Highland Church of Christ (400 N. Houston Levee Road, Cordova, TN 38018) or Harding Academy of Memphis (1100 Cherry Road, Memphis, TN 38117) to honor Allen’s lifelong spirit of generosity and care.
Allen was born on December 12, 1937, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Samuel Leopold and Telfain (Seaton) Adler. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Eugenia “Gene” Campbell, on June 18, 1960. They had been married for 63 years when she passed away on January 12, 2024. Allen was an investment banker for nearly fifty years and cherished the relationships he built throughout his career.
He was an avid golfer and was a founding member at The Tournament Players Club at Southwind in Memphis, where he played countless rounds of golf. Once his body wouldn't allow him to play golf anymore, he played cards with his golf buddies every week. However, there was nothing Allen loved more than his family and being “Poppy” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He adored them.
He is survived by his beloved family, including his daughter Amy Adler Murphy of Memphis, TN, and his son Alan Lawrence Adler (Tonya) of Panama City, Florida, grandchildren Ethan Murphy (Leanna), Morgan Murphy, Jesse Adler, Cody Adler, Skyler Adler, and two precious great-grandchildren.
Allen was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Gene C. Adler.
