Zorita Carole Lucas' Obituary
Zorita Carole Lucas, aged 88, passed away on November 8, 2024, in Senatobia, MS. Born on October 30, 1936, Zorita was a celebrated figure in her community, known for her culinary skills, especially during the holidays, and her artistic talents.
Zorita was a devoted wife to her late husband, Paul Lewis Lucas, and a loving mother to her sons. She found joy in her gardens, her sewing room, and her artwork, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her passion and creativity. An avid animal lover, Zorita's home was a haven for many beloved dogs and cats over the years.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Karsell Lucas and his wife Kindra, and Derek Lewis Lucas and his wife Audrey. Her life was also blessed with a multitude of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who will cherish her memory. Zorita was preceded in death by her son Ronald "Tater" Norman Lucas, her husband Paul, her parents Margaret Adams and Alfred DeJarnette, her siblings Jolynn Kent, Charles DeJarnette, and Raymond "PeeWee" DeJarnette, and granddaughter Kayla Lucas.
Zorita was a member of the Southaven Community Church, where she participated in community activities and pursued her spiritual life with fervor.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no services. Zorita's legacy will live on through the memories she has left behind and the impact she made on those who knew her.
