Yell Wah "Tommy" Low's Obituary
Yell Wah “Mr. Tommy” Low, 82, died peacefully in his sleep early Monday morning, April 13, 2015. He leaves his wife, Annie, of 49 years; four children, Julie Chow, Suzanne Vail (Ben), Elizabeth Low, and Sunny Low (Shelby); and four grandchildren, Christopher Chow, Jonathan Chow, Spencer Low, and Savannah Low. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend immigrated to the United States at the age of 16, served in the United States Army with a tour of duty in Germany, owned and operated a grocery store for over 25 years, then lastly worked as a greeter in the transportation department at Baptist Memorial Hospital in the final years of his life, his most beloved job. “Mr. Tommy” loved the Lord, had a heart for people and never met a stranger. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Visitation will be held Friday evening 4-7pm at Memorial Park on Poplar, and a service celebrating Mr. Tommy’s life will be held on Saturday morning 11am at Faith Baptist Church at 3755 North Germantown Road in Bartlett, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Baptist Memorial Health Care Foundation, 350 N. Humphreys Blvd., Memphis, TN 38120 or First Chinese Baptist Church, 7555 Macon Rd, Cordova, TN 38018. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
