Xiu Zhen Chen, age 59, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2022, surrounded by her loved ones.
Xiu, born on November 3, 1962 to Jing Yun Chen (陳景雲) and Liu Mei Xie (谢留妹) in Canton, China, immediately brought joy and laughter into the world. She was raised with two brothers. She went on to graduate from high school. Her passions were gardening fruits and vegetables and harvesting flowers.
In 1982, Xiu met Chun Ming Wong (黄俊明) and the two were inseparable from that point on. Xiu and Chun were married in 1986 and had three children, Ying, Ting, and Lily.
Xiu was a fiercely dedicated mom to all of her children, raising all three of them to go on to accomplish great things. Family came first and was above all else to Xiu, a value she instilled in all those around her. The hole left by her absence is impossible to fill.
Xiu was predeceased by her parents, Jing Yun Chen and Liu Mei Xie. She is survived by her husband, Chun, and her three children, Ying, Ting, and Lily.
The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to the funeral home. There will be a celebration of life held at 11:00 am on February 5, 2022 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119. (901) 302-9980.
