Wilma Rose Rutledge's Obituary
Wilma Rose Rutledge age 97 of Memphis, Tennessee passed away peacefully on January 15, 2023.
She was born on December 28, 1925 in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Joel Ben Dyer and Nannie Wagner Dyer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, James Robert Rutledge, Sr; a son, James Robert (Bobby) Rutledge, Jr.; three sisters, Edith Farthing, Virginia Reynolds and Elizabeth Garner and a brother, Ben Dyer.
Survivors include a son, Joel Wayne Rutledge (Toni); two grandsons, Joel Rutledge (Ali) and Robert Rutledge (Lauren); a great grandson, Cade and a great granddaughter, Everly.
Wilma opened Wilma’s Dress Shop in Whitehaven, Tennessee, which she operated for 10 years, and retired from Gloria’s Mother of the Bride. She especially loved attending family functions and Christ United Methodist Church. She loved her dachshunds, reading, playing bridge and living at The Monarch and spending her last years at Ave Maria.
The Rutledge Family will receive friends for a visitation on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 from 11:00am to 12:00pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.
