Wilma Lasslo's Obituary
Wilma Reynolds Lasslo, 83, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 03, 2010. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and Chickasaw Bluff Chapter, DAR. While in high school, she began her career as a librarian, at the Mayne Williams Public Library in Johnson City, TN. She graduated from Science Hill High School in 1945, ETSU in 1949, and received her Masters of Librarianship from Emory University in 1950. She was certified as a Medical librarian in 1954. After meeting her future Husband, Dr. Andrew Lasslo, at Georgia Tech Library, they moved to Memphis in 1960. She retired from her position as circulation librarian at UTHSC in 1990, but she never stopped being a devoted wife, an amazing mother, a caring sister, a true Christian, and the best friend anyone could ever want. She leaves a daughter and son-in-Law, Millicent and Dennis Meeks, a granddaughter, Adalyn, a sister, Joyce Jayne, and a brother, Ray Reynolds. Visitation and Funeral services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church at 10 a.m. And 11 a.m, respectively, Saturday March 6, 2010. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Tamassee DAR School http://www.tdarschool.org, Christ United Methodist Church, Memphis Mandarin Baptist Church, or your Place of worship.
