Wilma Cronk's Obituary
Wilma Lois Russell Cronk, 92, of Memphis went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 1, 2012 after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Cronk was born on July 28, 1919, at home near Oskaloosa, IA. She is predeceased by her parents, Charles and Ada (Riggs) Russell, and her brothers Hilton Russell, Dale Russell (Velma), and Ken Russell (Donna). Mrs. Cronk is survived by her loving husband of sixty-five years, Dr. Dale Huffman Cronk of Memphis; her sister Myrna Russell Bremner (Bob) of Cedar Falls, IA; her children Connie Cronk Rouse (Richard) of Clearwater, FL, Stan Cronk (Johnna) of Ruston, LA, and Jim Cronk (Michelle Dixon) of Cordova; her grandchildren Alisha Rouse Sackett (Chris) of Yukon, OK, Brant Rouse (Vanessa) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Lydia Michelle Cronk and Margot Weslee Cronk of Cordova; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was a graduate of William Penn College in Oskaloosa, IA, and formerly a long-time employee of Acme Cleaners in Ouachita Parish, LA. Mrs. Cronk was a long-time member of First Nazarene Church in West Monroe, LA, and Trinity Baptist Church in Cordova, where she was very active in her Sunday School class. Since 2004, Mrs. Cronk and her husband Dale have been residents at Kennington Pointe in Memphis. The family will receive visitors beginning at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 5, at Trinity Baptist Church, Cordova; the funeral will follow at 12 noon. A private graveside service will take place at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Wednesday, March 7. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be given to Trinity Baptist Church of Cordova or Gideons International.
