William Carl Young's Obituary
William Carl Young Jr. Carl Young passed away peacefully on August 25 at the Methodist Hospice Unit in Memphis. He was born on February 11th 1933 in Corinth Mississippi. He was an avid outdoorsman and shared his love of hunting and fishing with numerous friends and his son Ben. He counted his time in the woods or on the lake as precious and made every effort to enjoy these special times whenever he could. Carl was a graduate of Central High School in Memphis and played football at the University of Mississippi. He served in The Army as a Military Policeman. He was a Shriner and treasured his time in the Shrine Clown Unit. He worked at Lafarge Corporation for over 20 years and counted many of his customers as dear friends. The most important thing to Carl was family. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Young Sr and his mother Eunice Young. He is survived by his wife Sara, his son Ben (Jennifer), and his granddaughters Ashleigh, Mary Peyton, and Katie. Carl also leaves behind friends too numerous to mention. Carl made a lasting impression on everyone that he met. He will be truly missed until we meet again. Services will be at Covenant Methodist Church, 8350 Walnut Grove Road Memphis Tennessee, on Wednesday August 28th with Visitation at 1:00 and the Memorial Service at 2:00. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make a donation to one of the following organizations that were a large part of Carl’s life: Methodist Hospice Residence 6416 Quince Road Memphis Tn. 38119 Covenant United Methodist Church 8350 Walnut Grove Road Memphis TN. 38018 in support of the Youth Group.
