William (Bill) Willis' Obituary
William (Bill) Willis, 88, of Memphis, TN, passed away on October 24, 2022.
Bill was born on September 28, 1934, in Charlotte, NC, to Chalmer James Willis and Mary Ackerman Willis.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Kevin Willis and Ann Thomas, his daughter, Tracy Willis, and his grandchildren, Eliza, and Lyndsey Willis.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Frank, James, Don, and Bob Willis
Bill graduated from Central High School in Memphis in 1953 and graduated from Memphis State University in 1957. He served as an accountant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, then began his career in banking, working for First National Bank in Memphis. He continued to work in banking until he joined his brother, Robert Willis, to work at his construction company, Old Towne Homes. He went on to later work with another brother, Don, at Don Willis Construction, where continued to work into his 80s.
Bill Willis was a beloved father to his children and a beloved grandparent to his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home with a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
