William Thomas Roy's Obituary
William T. (Bill) Roy, born December 11, 1929 in Bunkie, Louisiana, only son of Elmo R. and Effie Kemp Roy. He was a graduate of Bunkie High School and Southwestern Louisiana University. Bill retired from the United States Air Force as a Colonel in 1980, then worked for Goodwill Industries and Catholic Charities as a Programs Director. Never really understood the necessity for a person to constantly push for yet another goal and liked to rest for a period after each accomplishment before setting out on the next rung up the ladder. No friend, or those for whom he was responsible, experienced any loss as a result of their association with him. He was a loving husband to his wife, Chantal M. Roy (Meyrieux), and is survived by his son, Marc R.E. Roy, daughter Marie C. Besnier, grandsons Alexandre and Julien Roy, and granddaughters Camille and Laura Besnier. He supported the Boy Scouts of America.Services are private.Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, (901)767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”.
