William "Buddy" Starr's Obituary
William Hatcher Starr (Buddy), 83, passed away July 9, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dessie and William Starr, son Danny Starr, stepson Gerald Batten, sisters Mildrid Pullen and Dorothy Strong. He is survived by his wife Martha, sons Dennis (Debby), Todd (Brenda), daughters Judy, Tammy (Jeff), and step daughter Pamela Sue (Don), stepson Roderic (Dallas), a sister, Evelyn Mason. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Buddy attended Memphis State University and retired from Kimberly Clark. He owned The Iron Gate Ornamental Iron Co. where he loved making gifts out of iron in his own unique designs to share with his friends and family. He was a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church, known for his relentless pursuit of new members for his Sunday School class, which he truly loved. Visitation will be Monday, July 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 13 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Family asked that memorials be sent to Colonial Park United Methodist Church.
