I did not find out until it was too late to make the drive to Memphis for the celebration of Ed’s life.Mr. Russell was a very special person in my childhood. He partnered with me on pumpkin carving, taught me the best way to make Banana Pudding, and always liked to make me and every other child smile with funny voices or a joke. He was a great person to be around. Sibyl and Ed were special people and I’m grateful they also introduced me to their grandson, Noah, who was a great companion every summer when he came to town to visit!Aside from that, William E. Russell was a saint. He let Christ’s light shine in all that he did. His compassion and love for family, friends, and others rivaled none I have ever known.Thank you, Ed Russell, for introducing me to a childhood friend, Noah, and for being a friend in faith.

I am so sorry for your loss, the sting of death is never easy. I have however found comfort in a hope spoken of at Revelation 21:3&4. That promised hope tells us of a time soon when pain, mourning, and even death will be done away with. I pray you receive peace and comfort soon.
