William (Bill) Rhody Luckett's Obituary
William (Bill) Rhody Luckett, 82, of Memphis, TN., son of William Martin Luckett and Eloise Luckett, passed away early Friday morning due to congestive heart failure. He joins his beloved wife Joan Creamer Luckett who had been married 58 years before passing in 2014. Bill and Joan were grade school / high school sweethearts. He is survived by his children William (Bubba) Luckett (wife Amy, children Brittany and Brad), Jamie Luckett (wife Lisa, children Lindsey Van Hoeck [husband Ryan] and Madison Luckett), Leslie Luckett Perry (husband Billy, children Jordan, Will and Walker) and Ashley Luckett Parks (husband Billy, children Ava Grace and Ben), a sister Frances Luckett Pickering (husband Joe), his sister-in-law Barbara Nash and niece Dr. Dana Nash.Bill starred at Central High School in the early 50s and was an All-Memphis football and baseball player. He was a master conversationalist and Memphis historian that never met a stranger. Bill loved the Lord and attended Grace Evangelical Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Christian Brothers High School Basketball Program or to Christ United Methodist’s Special Needs Ministry. Visitation begins at 10:00 am at Christ United Methodist Church; the funeral will immediately follow at noon, Monday, March 12.Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119, 901-767-8930……….”Celebrating Life Behind The Stone Wall”……………
