William Tyson Rayburn's Obituary
William (Bill) Tyson Rayburn passed away peacefully at home on November 27, 2012. He was born to John William and Reda Geraldine Jones Rayburn in Texarkana, Texas, on September 15, 1927. He graduated from Lone Oak High School in Paducah, Kentucky. He retired from Illinois Central Railroad with 43 years of service, lastly as a supervisor of Bridges and Buildings. Initially he served time with ICRR as a plumber. He earned a license as a Master Plumber from the State of Tennessee. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Miltie Tilley Rayburn, and a daughter, Mitzi Goodwin (Bud). He was “Granddaddy Bill” to Shelly Stackhouse (Richard) and Ross Goodwin and “Great Granddaddy” to William and Blake Stackhouse. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Elizabeth Pedron, of Texarkana, Texas, and was preceded in death by his brother, Charles B. Rayburn. A private memorial service will be held at a later date at Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Harwood Center (Memphis, TN) or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
