William "Nickie" Nixon's Obituary
William "Nickie" P. Nixon, Jr., age 85, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 after a long illness. Nickie was born in Memphis, TN on May 22, 1939.
He is predeceased by his parents, William "Nick" Nixon and Thelma Scott Nixon. He is survived by his sons, Bill, Mark, and Lee Nixon, his daughter, Terri Horner, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Nickie graduated from Christian Brothers High School. He was the owner of Nixon Lumber Company and built several custom houses in Collierville. Nickie had a lifelong passion for animals and nature. He had many hobbies, including traveling, boating, camping, hunting, fishing and even had a small zoo at his home in Collierville. He was a pilot and flew on many trips to interesting destinations.
The visitation will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to charitable organizations of your choice.
