Sheriff Morris is a hero to me. My uncle Sid Hall was Chief Inspector of the Sheriff's department. They were close friends. I remember how important Bill was to my family as a child. At age three, my parents saved the lives of our neighbors next door from carbon monoxide poisoning. I had returned home from their house without a shoe. Mother went next door to retrieve the shoe and found everyone in the house unconscious. My parents were honored for their life-saving actions and I was given a Junior Deputy badge- that I have to this day. Bill was a hero to me, and it mattered.
His life of service is unparalleled. God gave him a purpose and he fully lived it- Love thy neighbor. His example, integrity, honor are example to us all. My heart goes out to his family with the wish that more citizens follow the good example of Bill's life. He loved God. Loved neighbor. Loved family. What an amazing gift to us all- Collins Dillard
