William Clifford Lineberry's Obituary
William Clifford Lineberry, 63, a professional videographer, studio audio mixer, on-line editor, graphic artist and Memphis drummer died at home on August 22, 2019. He was a long time Memphian and member of Audubon Park Baptist Church. He leaves a sister, Linda Lineberry Feathers (Gerald), nieces, Merry Mattix (William) and Jennifer Churchill (Dan), Candace Cannon (Bryan) and three nephews, David Holmes (Cathi), Dewayne Lineberry and Jacob Linton (Sarah). He leaves many loving cousins and aunts Thelma Pace and Shirley Lineberry. He leaves a life time of friends, co-workers and clients. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Jean Lineberry, brother Carl Lineberry, neice Carla Tartt and nephew Nicholas Linton. Bill’s love and loyalty to his work is demonstrated in televised documentaries “Moments in Civil Rights History”, The McAfee Project series, The STAX Early Years and “PayDay”. In 2012, Bill won the Memphis Academy Award for the documentary “Undefeated” and nominated in 2012 for the documentary “Paradise Lost”. Just as much Bill loved playing drums and carried “sticks” wherever he went. He was a Drum Major in his senior year (1974) at Messick High School, went from there to University of Memphis (Memphis State) and most recently played with the Terry Wall band. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, August 29, 2019.
