WILLIAM “Bill” KOURDT HOWELL, SR., 90, of Memphis, passed away December 5, 2014. He was born on Christmas Day, 1923, in Biloxi, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Florence Smithwick Howell, his brother, Robert D. Howell and his parents. He retired from Motorola where he was a Governmental Communications Sales Manager for 35 years. He served in the Army during World War II. He is survived by three sons, William Kourdt (Lou) Howell, Jr. of West Melbourne, FL, David (Ginny) Howell of Memphis and James H. (Tanya) Howell of Walls, MS; 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, December 11 and funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Friday, December 12, both at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, “Behind the Stone Wall.”
