William Joseph Hause's Obituary
Reverend Joe Hause, 87 of Olive Branch, Mississippi, entered Heaven's Portal on February 3, 2022 as a "Hero of Faith". was loving and serving through preaching and teaching God's Holy Word. Soli Deo Gloria.
Joe was born in Brookfield, Missouri on September 8, 1934 to Harry and Pearl Hause. He was the elder of four children.
The family moved to Moberly, Missouri, where he graduated from high school in 1952, after which entered into the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Rather than reenlisting, he chose to go home and marry June Oglesby, the woman whom he loved in 1956. Having celebrated 65 years of marriage.
Joe attended Truman State University, earning a B.S. in Business Administration. The Lord called him to the ministry in 1970, where he attended Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi, earning a Masters of Divinity.
He served the Lord in pastoring four (PCUSA) churches during his ministry, Okolona Presbyterian Church, Okolona, Mississippi; Garden of Eden Presbyterian Church, Okolona, Mississippi; First Presbyterian church, Brownsville, Tennessee and West Isle Presbyterian Church in Galveston, Texas.
He loved his family, who enjoyed his witty sense of humor, hunting, fishing and traveling the world, highlighting trips to Israel to study the Holy Land; Turkey, Greece, and Italy to study the Seven Churches through the footsteps of Paul; and Germany to visit the history of Martin Luther.
Joe is survived by his wife June; son, Lance Hause; daughter Andrea Hause and Michael Kennedy; Daughter and son in law Kris and Brian Moore; Grandsons, Dr. Josh Black, Haden Black, Blake Moore and Dalton Moore; and granddaughter Faith Hause; great grandchildren, Harrison and Caroline Black. Other survivors include, his sister Mary Brown of Kansas City, Kansas and brother Harry Emmit Hause. of Austin, Texas; he was preceded in death by a sister Judy Kron and an infant daughter, Kelly Kay Hause.
In lieu of flowers, the Hause Family request any donation be made to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, Mississippi, 39745; and Methodist Hospice Residence, 6416 Quince rd. Memphis, Tennessee, 38119.
Funeral Services for Mr. Hause will be conducted on February 15, 2022 at 1:00pm in our Riverside Chapel with Rev. Robert Browning, officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 12:00 pm until the service hour. Burial will follow at West Tennessee State Veteran Cemetery.
