William Curtis Gary's Obituary
William Curtis Gary Sr. peacefully passed away early in the afternoon on the 27th of August 2019 in New Braunfels, Texas after struggling with dementia. Curtis was 93 years old and was born on the 7th of November 1925 to Grace and Bruce Gary.Curtis was a veteran of the US Navy, having served aboard the U.S.S. Herald of The Morning during WWII . He later worked for Bellsouth Telephone Co. until the early 1980’s, when he retired. He spent his retirement playing golf with friends and also enjoyed working outdoors making sure his yard looked immaculate. Curtis enjoyed watching golf, college football and Memphis Tigers basketball. A faithful Christian, Curtis always set time aside to read passages in the Bible before going to bed.Curtis is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jewell Gary, and his son William(Buck) Curtis Gary, Jr. Curtis is survived by his daughter-in-law Denise Christopherson Gary, two grandsons, Joshua Gary, Brian Gary, his wife Amy Gary and his great-granddaughter Jocelyn Gary.”The family will receive friends on Friday, September 13 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. with the service to follow immediately at 2:30 p.m. All services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery.
