William Fulmer's Obituary
William “Bill” G. Fulmer, 88, went to be with the Lord on August 19, 2014 after a long illness. He was the son of Turney and Minnie Fulmer. He was born in Tullahoma, TN, and married the love of his life, Jennie Stewart Fulmer, in 1945. Bill was preceded in death by their daughter Patti Fulmer Wilson. He graduated from Columbia Military Academy class of 1944 and served in WWII in The European Theater. Bill graduated from Memphis State and from pilot training at Randolph AFB, class of 51A. He was Chief of C-124 Standardization in the Strategic Air Command and Deputy Chief of SAC Instrument Pilot Training; he also retired from The US Air Force as Major in 1965. Mr. Fulmer was a Clerk of Court for Memphis and Shelby County Juvenile Court 1969-1984. He was co-founder of The Tennessee Juvenile Court Services Association in 1972. After retirement, he volunteered for 7 years at MIFA maintaining records of Home Delivered Meals. He also shopped for V.A. spinal cord patients for several years. He served as Chairperson for the Shelby County Service Merit Board 1994-2005, and Chairperson for Shelby County Retirement Board 1999-2007. He was a perpetual member of the Military Order of World Wars. Mr. Fulmer was an elder in the Presbyterian Church and an active member of Germantown Presbyterian Church. A memorial service will be held at Germantown Presbyterian Church, 2363 South Germantown Rd. 38138 on August 23, 2014, at 2:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Mid South Food Bank, 239 S.
