William David France's Obituary
William David France, 60, of Memphis, TN passed away peacefully on the morning of February 25th from an unexpected heart attack. He was born February 3rd, 1963 to William and Marilyn France in Natchez, MS. William was raised in Memphis where he attended PDS, MUS, then Mississippi State University. After many youthful adventures, he settled down and married Becky Morgan France. He and Becky were married for 23 years and had one son Will France (22). William spent his life as a landscape contractor beautifying many residential and commercial properties throughout Memphis. His final years were spent at Graceland as the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor. He loved Graceland, and working on that property was more than a job to him; he liked to call himself Elvis’s gardener.
William’s greatest pride and joy in life was being Will's father. He enjoyed being an active leader in Boy Scouts of America and never missed any of his son’s soccer games. William had a gentle and kind heart, always bringing home critters in need of a loving home. William enjoyed cheering on the MS State Bulldogs, listening to NPR, and spending time with his family. He loved the simple life and was a living picture of contentment. William was a loyal friend, loving husband and deeply devoted father.
William is survived by his wife, Becky; his son, Will; his sister, Helen (Bobby Wade); his niece, Caroline Wade; his nephew, Bobby Wade Jr; his mother-in-law Dixie Morgan; his brother-in-law Jim Morgan (Christi Morgan); and a large group of friends and family who loved him and will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marilyn France of Memphis.
Thursday March 2nd Memorial Park Funeral Home (5668 Poplar Ave) will hold the visitation at 9:00am and Memorial Service at 10:00am. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Boy Scouts of America or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
