William B. "Danny" Daniels Jr.'s Obituary
William Beaty Daniels, Jr., affectionately known as “Danny” to close friends and family, passed away leaving behind memories of dedication, leadership, and love for his family.
Born on May 13, 1947, in Memphis, Tennessee, Danny was the son of Jane Ingram Wood and Robert Clarence Wood. He was a proud graduate of Memphis State University and went on to serve his country with distinction in the United States Air Force. As a Captain and navigator, Danny spent much of his military career in the skies, where he played a vital role flying KC-135 aircrafts—an experience that reflected both his skill and sense of duty, and also took him all over the world.
Following his military service, Danny built a successful professional career, serving as President of Tom Hunt Sales Company. He worked side by side with his wife, Polly H. Daniels, who he loved fiercely.
Danny was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his only daughter, Jennifer Daniels Aycock (Brian); and his cherished granddaughter, Audrey, who brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his sisters, Debbie Parnell(Carl), Donna Langford(Larry), and Janet James(Bobby), as well as his brother, Bobby Wood(Iverlisse) and many nephews, great nephews, nieces, and great nieces.
Though a Memphis native and alumnus, Danny later became an enthusiastic Auburn fan once his daughter began attending the university—proof that his greatest loyalties always followed family.
Danny will be remembered for his steady leadership, sharp mind, love of flight and travel, and deep devotion to those he held dear. His presence will be greatly missed, but his legacy lives on in the lives of all who knew and loved him.
