William Andrew Cimbalo's Obituary
William Andrew Cimbalo, 91, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2020 at his home in Destin, Florida. William was born May 26, 1929 to William and Emma (Caliendo) Cimbalo in Chicago, Illinois, the middle of three children. He graduated from St. Mel High School in 1947.
William served in the Marine Corps in Korean War as part of the air Wing from 1951 to 1953. His total services with the Marines were from 1947 to 1977 in the reserves. He met his beautiful bride, Jean Andrey Bach, in Chicago and they married in 1947 in Chicago, Illinois.
In 1947 William began a long career at International Harvester working his way up from draftsman to Head Maintenance Forman in the Foundry side of the plant. He managed the Foundry for more than 23 years until his retirement in 1981. William lost his first wife in 1975. In 1976 he met his second love Fay Ann Willett. They went into real estate soon after and enjoy this until 2000. William and Fay also started a Jewelry business during this time. They did many festivals across the country. William loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was actively involved in tennis, reading and travel.
William is survived by his daughter, Debra Lynn Orosco (Ruben); son Stephen Andrew Cimbalo (Altair); grandchild, Stephen Andrew Cimbalo Jr. (Kim); great grandchildren, Charlotte “Charlie”, Olivia and Hudson Cimbalo; brother, Michael Cimbalo (Suzy); and numerous nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rose Vecera and a son William Edward Cimbalo, III.
The family will greet friends from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:
