William R. Callahan's Obituary
William R Callahan, Jr, Age 85, passed away quietly at home after a long illness on Christmas morning. He was the son of William R and Julia Callahan who proceeded him in death. He was born and raised in Memphis, TN attending grade school at Little Flower Catholic School and he was a proud graduate of Christian Brothers High School and a member of the Christian Brothers Hall of Fame. He then began a long and storied career in the Automotive Industry that covered many decades and states throughout the Southeast. He held a number of positions in management with Ford Motor Company prior to going to the retail automotive business in Fairfax Virginia. After returning to Memphis, he became part of the Dobbs Automotive Network in Memphis, Jacksonville and Charlotte. He returned to Memphis to finish his career as a part of Dobbs Management Service.He was an avid fan of Christian Brothers sports and University of Memphis football and basketball. Win or lose, he was a Tiger Fan.He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Kathleen Patricia Wade Callahan. He also leaves his children William III (Kathleen), Lawrence (Cathy), Michael (Peggy), Kevin (Pam), Maureen Callahan, Kathleen Owen (Tim). In addition, he leaves thirteen grandchildren and two sister, Connie Callahan Balton (Frank) and Ellen Callahan Meyer (Dennis).A Mass of Celebration of Life will be held on Friday December 28th at 10:30 am at Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit.
