William Harold (W.H.) Bryan's Obituary
William H. Bryan, 89, of Eads, TN, entered into eternal rest at his home in Eads, TN, Saturday, May 20, 2023.
Born April 1, 1934, in Pheba, MS, he was the son of the late William D. Bryan and Norine Sizemore Bryan. He was the second son of five children and the second eldest child. He was a graduate of Maben High School, attended and played football at Wood Jr. College in Matheston, MS, and enlisted in the U.S. Navy.
Harold served his country for eight years and following discharge from the Navy, he joined Roadway Express as a city driver then became an over-the-road driver. After 32 years, he retired from Roadway Express, but retirement didn’t last long. He wanted to continue driving and joined the Senior Ministry at Bellevue Baptist Church as bus driver, ensuring the elderly members were picked up for church and returned home after church. He also worked as a driver for Hertz Heavy Equipment Rental; delivering heavy equipment to job sites.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and a man of faith, Harold was ever-present in his family’s life. While his road trips kept him away several days a week, he ensured he made time for his family with camping trips, outings on the lake, attending sporting events, and family vacations across the country. He loved classic cars, NASCAR, fixing things, and his hummingbirds.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Pat Bryan; his sister, Addie Ray Bryan; and his son-in-law, Danny Bousson.
Harold is survived by his wife of 55 years, Billye (Teasler), his brother Carl Bryan, his sister Ruth (Joe) Cooper, four children: Bill Sheffler (Kristi) of Hutchinson, KS, Ken Hollowell of Moscow, TN, Chyrel Bousson of Fayetteville, GA, and Paul (Victoria) Bryan of Germantown, TN; Nine grandchildren: Mychal Sheffler, Kymberlee (Cody) Garcia, Trey Smith, Sara Hollowell, Daniel Bousson, Jr, Rachael Rummage, Adelyn Bousson, William Bryan, and Andrew Bryan; and 12 great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in the Riverside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home (5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis TN) Saturday, June 3, 2023, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon. A celebration of life will follow at 12:00 noon. Graveside service and burial will be at 3:00 p.m. at Yellow Leaf Baptist Church Cemetery in Oxford, MS.
