William H. "Billy" Hearn's Obituary
William H. “Billy” Hearn, 87, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at Methodist Hospice Residence. Mr. Hearn was a native Memphian. He attended Treadwell High School where he was active in ROTC and in Golden Gloves. He graduated with the Class of 1948. Mr. Hearn then went on to realize a lifelong goal when he cofounded T.A.M. Electric Co. in 1973. Mr. Hearn was a Mason and a 32 Degree member of the Scottish Rite. He was proud to be a 65 year member of IBEW Local 474, where he held many leadership roles throughout the years. Mr. Hearn was solely responsible for bringing many young men to the Union and to the electrical trade. After retiring, Mr. Hearn enjoyed traveling. He also enjoyed his many longtime friends and making new ones. Mr. Hearn most enjoyed his family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Ann Hearn; a son, David A. Hearn; and his brothers, Jimmie Lee Fraser and Larry L. Hearn. Mr. Hearn leaves a son, Don L. Hearn, Sr. (Debra) of Memphis and his daughters, Shannon Hearn Weaver (David) of Brighton, TN, Elizabeth Ann Hearn of Memphis, and Chryss Hearn Hart (Gene) of Fort Campbell, KY. Mr. Hearn also leaves five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, all of whom put a sparkle in his eyes and a smile on his face. He leaves six step-children. The family is planning a private service. The family requests that any memorials be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Memphis or Methodist Hospice Residence.
