William "Bill" Roy Wilson's Obituary
William Roy Wilson "Bill" age 83 passed away on January 3, 2026 at home.
He was born on July 2, 1942 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Roy H Wilson and Emily Buchanan Wilson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Parish Wilson.
Bill attended White Station High School, Rice University for a BA in Architecture and Washington University for MA in Urban Design.
He was on Officer in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War era.
As a lifelong member of AIA, he worked in Memphis with Pete Bekemeyer & Associates, Yeates & Gaskell Architects, JMGR Architects and Smith Group (out of Detroit). His focus was designing health care and educational facilities.
He was a beloved and active member of First Baptist Church Memphis.
Bill leaves behind his wife and partner for almost 60 years, Betty, two sons, Forrest R. Wilson and his wife Layne and Warren B. Wilson; all of Memphis and a sister Emily Jo Cochran of Tupelo, Mississippi.

Services for Bill will be held on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 11:00am in the Riverside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will receive family and friends for visitation an hour prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am. Reception will follow the service in the Parkside Event Center. Burial will be held privately.
