William B. Bell, Jr.'s Obituary
WILLIAM B. BELL, JR., 87, of Memphis, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Kirby Pines Manor. Born on December 20, 1922 to William and Daisy Dooley Bell, Bill graduated Tech High School before joining the Army Air Corp as a gunnery instructor. He married Carolyn Holt and raised four daughters in Memphis. After graduating from Southern Law University, Bill worked at Memphis Light Gas and Water as a staff attorney. A former Mason, Bill was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn and his daughter Penny Bell. Bill is survived by his wife Peggy DeBerry Bell; daughters Pattie Layser (Earle), Donna Hulsey (Bill) and Lisa Jones (Rick); three granddaughters, Carolyn Hulsey Smith, Evelyn Hulsey, Mary Virigina Hulsey; his sister Frances Bell Wellman (Gene) and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at Memorial Park Funeral Home with visitation prior to the service. There will also be a memorial service for Bill at 2 pm that afternoon at Kirby Pines. The family requests that any memorials be sent to Kirby Pines Foundation or Kirby Pines Alzheimer’s Fund.
