William B. Batte's Obituary
William Bernard Batte, 80, of Bartlett, TN, passed away Monday September 1, 2025 at Emory Ridge Memory Care in Powell , TN.
He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1962. He enlisted in the Navy for six years and achieved the rank of Electronics Technician, second class, Submarines. He proudly served on the USS DACE , SSN 607. He continued his civil service at the Atlanta office of the FAA until his retirement after 32 years. He and his wife retired to the Bartlett area to provide loving support to the family "back home". He had become a Deacon of the Bethel Baptist Church in Jonesboro , Georgia and when he and his wife moved to Bartlett they became faithful members of the Bellevue Baptist Church until health issues intervened.
He was a quiet gentle spirit who dearly missed his beloved wife of 33 years, Bonnie T. Batte. He is also predeceased by his parents, Zeni Z. Batte and Laurance E. Batte, Sr. and his sister, F. Joy Batte.
He is survived by stepdaughter, Terrell Ann Morse and grandchildren, Zachary (Maria) Morse and Makenzie Morse (soon to wed Holden Palazola) , and great-grandson Zane Z. Morse.
He is also survived by his brother Laurance E. Jr (Pat) Batte and sister, Zeni B.(Will) Schleter of Knoxville, TN; nephews Ward Batte and John (Angela) Batte; nieces Zeni M. Schleter and Amy (Andrew) Eslinger.
The family will receive friends and relatives from 2:00pm until service time at 3:00pm , on Saturday, September 13, 2025. Graveside Service to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
