Willard F. Bond III's Obituary
Willard F. Bond, III, 86, of Hendersonville, TN, went to be with the Lord on February 29, 2024.
He was born on December 9, 1937, to the late Willard F. Bond, Jr. and Vera Louise Bond.
Willard was an avid runner and ran many races in Memphis and Hendersonville. In Memphis he wrote many articles for a runner’s magazine and liked to be known as a “back of the pack” runner. After moving to Hendersonville, he was a part of the Tennessee Parks Running Tour achieving status of champion in the Grand Prix Championship for the year 2008-2009 in the veteran's division. He enjoyed reading and the companionship of his sweet kitty Rosie.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bond was predeceased by his sister Aletha Bond, daughter Barbara Ann Farley, granddaughter Karen Renee Bond, and grandson Jonathan Thrash.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Donna Bond of Hendersonville, TN; daughter Amanda Wade (Brett) of Clarksville, TN; daughter Becky Thrash (Doyle) of Lena, MS; sister Dr. Susan Shaw of Brevard, NC; grandchildren Tyler Bond, Gracie Wade, Sarah Wade, Teresa Temple, Christopher Wicker, Doyle Thrash II; great grandchildren Mabry, Jacob, Daniel, and Michael.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, March 8 at 12:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home with a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery.
