Wilburn T. "Wil" Hutcherson's Obituary
Wilburn T. “Wil” Hutcherson
Wilburn T. Hutcherson, 78, of Germantown, TN, passed away peacefully with his loved
ones by his side on December 20, 2024, at Germantown Methodist Hospital.
He was born in Nashville, TN on October 2, 1946, to the late Wilburn H. & Mary Lucille Hutcherson.
Wil graduated from Kingsbury High School in 1965 and later enlisted in the United States
Air Force. He was proud to have served his country during the Vietnam War. After more
than 40 years in the material handling industry, he retired from Grafco, Inc. as the VP of
Sales in 2016.
Wil had a passion for being around water, from the ocean to a backyard swimming pool.
And for those that know, he was meticulous about keeping a pristine pool! Some of his
favorite times were dropping a line in the water, especially in the deep sea. Wil was also
passionate about steaks and burgers on a charcoal grill (no gas...ever), Volunteer football,
playing cards, reading, and a good television series. He loved his country, his family and
had a special love for his granddaughters.
Those who will miss him the most include his loving wife of 58 years Shelia Redcher
Hutcherson; his daughter Lisa Garten (Todd); and his two granddaughters Hannah and
Ryley Grace, all of Germantown, TN.
The family invites friends to gather for visitation at 10:00AM on Thursday, December 26, at
Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Fireside Chapel at
11:00AM. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, the family
requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Vietnam Veterans
Memorial Fund
