Werner J. (Cy) Wulff, On Saturday, August 8, 2009, Werner J. (Cy) Wulff died in Alexandria, VA.Cy was a long-time Memphian and moved to Alexandria after the death of his wife, Victoria K. Wulff, to live with his son, John Werner Wulff.Cy played professional baseball in Fond du Lac Wisconsin before joining the United States Marine Corps at the beginning of WWII. He served in the World War II Pacific Theater with the First Division and participated in the Battles of Okinawa and Peleliu, where he received 2 Purple Hearts.He also leaves a daughter-in-law, Paula Hoffman Wulff, a grandson, Matthew Wyatt Wulff, also of Alexandria. In addition, he leaves 2 granddaughters, Shannon Shearon and Rebecca Taurisano and 3 great-granddaughters.A visitation will take place Thursday, August 13, from 5pm to 7pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 14, at 10am at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 485 S. Highland. The internment will follow immediately at Memorial Park with a luncheon afterwards at the church.
