Wendell Seelig's Obituary
Wendell Lee Seelig, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 25, 2015. He was born in Hutchison, Kansas to Harold and Mildred Seelig. He graduated from Humes High School where he excelled in sports and was drafted by the New York Yankees. Mr. Seelig proudly served his country abroad in the US Army and as a local Memphis Police officer. He was a very successful business man and an avid hunter, where his love for the outdoors helped him in his development of The Woods at Pickwick. He leaves behind his loving wife and high school sweetheart of 62 years, Dolores, daughters, Donna Heathcock (Tommy), Cheryl Edwards, Laurie Martin (Tom), Lisa Rolin, and sons Lee Seelig and Brad Seelig (Karen), 14 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents Mildred and Harold Seelig, sister, Dorothy, and brother Jack. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park on Monday, December 28 from 5:00-7:00pm with a rosary at 7:00 the funeral mass to be held at St. Brigid Catholic, 7801 Lowrance on Tuesday, December 29 at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research or Poor Claire’s Monastery.
