Wendell Parker's Obituary
Wendell H. “Park” Parker, 91, of Memphis, resident of Waverly Gardens, died on Saturday, January 8, 2011. He was born in Centralia, IL, on February 14, 1919 and attended Centralia High School. He retired from the Illinois Central Railroad in 1982 as a supervising agent. He was a member of the Toastmasters, Elks Club, and the MA Lightman Bridge Club. He enjoyed golfing, woodworking, bowling, and fishing. He was also an accomplished pianist, vocalist, and artist. He is preceded in death by his son Tweed Bryan Parker. He leaves his loving wife of 67 years Berdella (Dell) Joyce Lee Parker, his daughter Donna Parker Pace, and his grandson Adam Parker Pace. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2011, with funeral services to follow at 2:00pm, all at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
