Lindy was such a blessing in my life. He knew everything about the grand old movies, his favorite being “Wuthering Heights.” Lindy could delightfully entertain anyone with his movie memories, his singing, the stories he wrote, his military adventures in the Philippines after WWII, his tales of working as a reporter at many newspapers across the country. He especially loved his memories of growing up in the Binghampton area of Memphis and the friends he made there. Special to him were the beautiful and ornate theaters that enhanced his young life with their lushness and the showing of movies he never forgot. He enjoyed being a newspaper reporter, but his passion was writing, be it a novel or a short story. Lindy said to me on more than one occasion that writing saved his life. In writing his stories, Lindy wrote from his heart, his tenderness coming to the forefront and his imagination soaring high. Yes, Lindy was a blessing to my life. How very greatly I’m already missing him.Judy Smith
