Walton R. Moore's Obituary
Walton Randolph Moore Sr. age 91 was born April 24, 1926 in Simpsonville, South Carolina to Walton Jordan Moore and Annie Boatwright Moore. He married Naomi Sidney Bennett on June 7, 1946. He served 5 years in the Navy before transferring to the Air Force, where he retired after 24 years. Upon retirement from the military, he worked for the Internal Revenue Service until he retired in 1981. He is a graduate of Syracuse University. Family was his priority and he was proud of his 3 children. He was a Godly man full of character and integrity. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years Naomi (“Cindy”), his parents, siblings Edwin and Charlsie, and his second wife Carmelette. He is survived by his daughter Sherry Stenger and husband Richard; son Walton Randolph Moore Jr. (Randy) and wife Sheri; daughter Anita Cashion and husband Wayne; stepchildren Hobson Robertson and wife Debra; Suzanne Vrbas and husband Daryl; grandchildren Tracy Stenger, Rachel Stenger-Wiley, Jeremy Moore, Aaron Cashion, Jordan Cashion and Bethany Mlak; stepgrandchildren Linsey Tashie, Jordan Vrbas, Felicia Howlett, Shannon Lance, Erin Robertson and 22 great grandchildren.The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 27th from 10:00 a.m -11:00 a.m.. with the service to follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. All services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave., Memphis, TN 38119 (901) 767-8930. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”.
