Walter Wieronski's Obituary
Walter Albert Wieronski, SR, 85, passed away November 13, 2010. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 17, from 5 until 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 7 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 18, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Walter was born on June 27, 1925 in Chicago, IL. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He loved life and people, and after his retirement from grocery store management he worked at Graceland for many years. He was a kind and giving person who was very active in local charities. A devout Catholic, Walter was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He always put his family first and foremost. Walter was an avid rose gardener. Proud of his Polish heritage, he was active in the Polish American Heritage League and regularly subscribed to a Polish newspaper. In addition, Walter loved history and to travel with his family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Philomena Petrus and parents, Marie Hydzik and Albert Wieronski, of Chicago, IL. He is survived by his daughter, Sharon Wieronski (Harold Byrd); sons, Walter A. Wieronski, Jr. (Sherry), Joseph P. Wieronski, Eugene E. Wieronski (Donna); grandchildren, Garrett, Rebecca, Ashley, and Matthew; and his faithful Golden Retriever, Sandy. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
