Virginia Harper Sims' Obituary
Virginia Harper Sims, 92, passed away on November 25, 2015. She was born in Graves County, Ky. Virginia graduated from South Side High School in 1941 and was a member of Frayser Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by brothers, Jewell Harper and James E. Harper and sister, Ina Dell Harper Johnsey. She leaves three children, Johnny Ray Sims, Vicki Sims O’Brien of Memphis and Jack Wayne Sims of Florida, six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Virginia was a retiree from Kimberly-Clark Corporation and was tapped as their first female sales representative in 1971. After moving to Houston, TX, Jacksonville, Fl, and Appleton, WI, she returned to her favorite city, Memphis. Visitation will be held in Monday, November 30 at 1:30 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home She will be buried at Memorial Park Cemetery beside her late husband, George Raymond Sims. The family requests you bring to the funeral home a new toy to donate for Toys for Tots. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119. “Celebrating Life… Behind the Stone Wall”
