Virginia Grisham McKinney's Obituary
Virginia Grisham McKinney of Collierville, Tennessee, died on November 4, 2022 at home. She was born in Carthage, Tennessee on February 10, 1929 to Horace Albert Grisham and Siddie Vance Grisham. She graduated from Carthage High School and later worked for Casual Corner for 13 years which led to her love of fashion. She was a member of Collierville United Methodist Church and the Open Door Sunday School class. She was also a longtime member of the Friends of the Pink Palace Museum as well as the Women’s Exchange. She was a member of the Melody Lane Garden Club and enjoyed tending to the gardens at her home.
She is survived by her son, William D. “Mac” McKinney, Jr. and wife Lane; a niece, Marianne Rogers and husband Glenn of Nashville and God daughter April Liz O’Malley and husband Ryan of Dallas, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William Douthitt McKinney, her daughter, Lori Ann McKinney and her parents.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers that memorials be sent to Shriners Children’s Hospital at 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Her memorial service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 1:00pm in the Riverside Chapel. The family will receive guests an hour before the service. Following the service, burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
