Virginia Wilder Martin's Obituary
Virginia Wilder Martin, age 92, passed away October 26, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on November 27, 1925 in Memphis, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Ivory Wilder and brother, J.W. Wilder, Jr. Her beloved husband of 72 years, Grady B. Martin, preceded her in death on May 1, 2018. Virginia is survived by 3 children, Pat Benefiel (Tom), Carol Booth, and Annette Frazier; 7 grandchildren, Michele Crouch, Ashley Cunningham, Joseph Booth, Michael Booth, Patrick Booth, Joanne House, and Christy Frazier; 10 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. Virginia graduated from Treadwell High School in 1942. She worked many years for Advertising Checking Bureau. Virginia was a long time member of Colonial Baptist Church. She was an enthusiastic fan of Memphis Tiger Basketball and attended many NCAA playoff games. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of various leagues in Memphis, and playing cards with friends and family. Virginia and Grady spent many happy times camping. Virginia’s greatest love was her family and she will be forever missed. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:30 p.m. and services celebrating her life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 30 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
