Virginia Henderson Knight's Obituary
Virginia Henderson Knight passed away Wednesday, December 7 after a long and joyful life. She was born on November 1, 1923 and raised in Inverness, MS. She was preceded in death by her two husbands and daughter; James G. Henderson, Richard T. Knight, and Betty H. Busby. Left behind was her son, James D. Henderson, along with five grand children and five great grand children. Virginia unselfishly devoted 60 years of service where her work improved the lives of children with learning disabilities before reaching classroom difficulties. Her greatest personal achievement was accomplished while setting ground work for The Wesley School, earlier known as the Whitehaven United Methodist Day School. She also leaves her many friends at Lutheran Village who ensured happiness in her final years. Visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral home in Memphis, TN on Friday at 2 p.m. followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. Graveside services are at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Inverness, MS on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Ave. Memphis, TN 38119, (901)767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”.
