Virginia Burmann Kilgore
Virginia Kilgore died peacefully, Saturday, November 15, 2025. She was born on Christmas Eve, 1935 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Virginia Barmann and her 5 year old brother, Lawrence.
Virginia attended 12 years of Parochial School graduating with honors from Sacred Heart Academy in St. Joseph.
In 1955 she married her high school sweetheart William “Bill” Kilgore after 2 years in the Army, and 13 months with the Union Pacific Railroad, she arrived in Memphis in July 1976.
Her first priority, was finding the school for her 2 boys. She helped found the Dogwood PTA in Germantown, Tennessee. She was an active communicate of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. A member of the Ladies Guild, Parish Community Chairman of the food pantry and member of the Merry Makers Senior Group. She was a member of Madonna Circle and 1998 Co-Chairman of their Antique Show. She was also a sustaining member of Circle Arts. On sunny days she liked to play golf and enjoyed her ladies 9 Hole League at Germantown Country Club. Her favorite time was praying the Rosary on Thursday nights with other church members.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Bill of 70 years; her son, Mark (Katy) and grandsons, Sawyer of Los Angeles, CA and Kai of San Marcos, CA; son, Gregg of Germantown; and her sister, Judy Thompson (Roger) of Marco Island, FL.
