Virginia Hamilton's Obituary
MARY Virginia Hamilton, 86, passed away on May 14, 2011 in Las Vegas, NV. She was born May 19, 1924 in Memphis, TN, to the late Robert S. and Lucy (Willins) Hill. She graduated from Messick High School in 1942. She married her high school sweetheart, Clarence Hamilton, who preceded her in death. During their marriage, they lived in several cities including Memphis, TN, Jackson, MS, Prairie Village, KS, Glendale, CA and Las Vegas, NV. Virginia was an executive secretary. In Memphis, she worked at the Board of Education – Memphis City Schools and Briarcrest School. She worked at Lester Engineering in Jackson, MS and at Glendale Federal Savings and Loan in Glendale, CA. She was a member of East Park Baptist Church and Briarcrest Baptist Church in Memphis and Shadow Hills Baptist church in Las Vegas NV. Virginia is survived by her children, Sheri Strange Nocella of Carlsbad, CA, Cyndi Cerjan of Fishers, IN, Henry Hamilton of Bartlett, TN, and Ben Hamilton of Las Vegas, NV; and her grandchildren, Alexander Strange of Hattiesburg, MS, Chris Strange of Hattiesburg, MS, Heather Hale of Fishers, IN, Amy Ramer of Fishers, IN, Cary Hamilton of Bartlett, TN, Kelly Curry of Memphis, TN, and Kim Popp of Montreal Canada. She is also survived by her 18 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, May 21, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
