Virginia Elizabeth Guzzo Wilson's Obituary
Virginia Elizabeth Guzzo Wilson, age 95, died peacefully in her home on June 14, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Nellie Guzzo, her sister, Charnelle Wendt and her husband of 43 years John D Wilson, Jr.
She is survived by her son, Danny Wilson (Cathy), daughter, Debbie Wilson Bell all of Memphis. Four grandchildren, JD (Maureen) Wilson of Memphis, Kristy Wilson of Memphis, Toby Bell of Huntsville, AL and Victoria Bell of Washington, D.C. and a great-grandchild, Cassia Wilson.
Virginia was raised in Metairie, LA and moved to Memphis when she married.
She was a resident of Memphis for 73 years. A member of Calvary Episcopal Church and numerous clubs. Known by all for her Southern Hospitality and Graciousness she loved entertaining especially her dear friends in the Thursday Girls.
She will be remembered as the Matriarch of her family, a loving mother, and grandmother. GeGe as she was called by family was devoted to her family and delighted in hosting all the family gatherings always with a specific theme for each one.
The family will receive friends at a visitation on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at 1pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Graveside service will follow at 2pm at Memorial Park Cemetery.
