Virginia Cox's Obituary
Virginia Cox, 94, was born in Memphis TN, on January 29, 1928. She had been unable to walk after a fall on November 26, 2022, but she walked through heaven’s gates on January 24, 2023. Mrs. Cox grew up on a farm in Laws Hill, MS, a small community near Holly Springs. She was the loving wife to Charles Cox for 65 years, and a loving mother to son, Bobby Gammel (Betty) for 75 years. She was preceded in death by her generous and loving parents, Thomas Mooring Malone and Leona Cash Malone, brothers Howard and James Malone, and survived by one sister, Jewel Malone, husband, son, two grandchildren: Dr. Heather Gammel and Christopher Gammel (Allison), five great-grandchildren; Sutton, Shepard, Grady, Ford, and Brandt, nephews: Thomas Malone, Jim Malone, Jimmy Cox, Billy Cox (Diann), and nieces: Donna Starnes, Barbara Doerflein (Steve), Shirley Dearing, Linda Weilbacher (Bill), Marilyn Bell, Peggy Stanco, Patricia Malone, Shirley Bracken, and Sharon Mangrum. Rest in Peace Virginia, Mother, Nonnie, Aunt Ginny. The visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
