Virginia Evelyn Barrett's Obituary
Virginia Evelyn Barrett, 100, passed away September 3, 2013. She was born on March 10, 1913 in Union, MO to Claude and Cora Dawson. During her younger years, her family moved to a homestead in Wyoming. After graduating high school, she received her teaching certificate from the University of Wyoming and taught in several one-room schools. As the wife of an oilman, Frank and mother of three children, she took very good care of her family during their many moves around the country. She is survived by her daughter, Cora Lee Seale (Ted); son, Dr. Fred Barrett (Dana); grandchildren, James Edwin Barrett, Dr. William Mark Barrett, Jason F. Barrett, Shawn Seale, Marla Johnson, Jessica Whichard, and Nicolas Slider; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Barrett and daughter, Claudia Slider. Family and friends are invited to gather at 1:30 p.m. for graveside services to follow at 2 p.m., Friday, September 6 at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be sent to The Villages of Germantown Foundation or Methodist Alliance Hospice.Location: Cave Hill Arrow Color: Blue
