Violet Wallace's Obituary
Violet Wallace (nee Baldassari), 81, of Collierville, Tennessee passed peacefully on January 22, 2015. Violet leaves her devoted husband Jay of 59 years and her loving children Susan (David) Orabone, Kimberly (Jack) Reust, Sandra (Jack) Mullen, Lynn Simpson and Scott (Christine) Wallace. Violet was blessed with 13 grandchildren…Ryan, Tyler, Timothy and Kyle Orabone; Benjamin (Rachel), Jessica (Shanin) Widrick and Adam Reust; Christopher (Rachele) and Sean Mullen; Jay and Matthew Simpson; Grace and Matthew Wallace. Noni was great-grandmother to Lexie, Nathaniel, Amelia and Elise. She is survived by brothers-in-law…Michael Wallace and Ralph Stenberg and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Giovanna and Santo Baldassari, her sisters Yolanda Stenberg and Amelia Mercier and Robert Mercier. Violet was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois and studied abroad in Milan, Italy. She moved several times with her husband and children to Madison, Connecticut; Ohio and Florida before settling in Collierville. A devout Catholic, she lived up to her Italian heritage by always surrounding herself with family…from birthdays to first communions, graduations, weddings and family reunions. She was always there and beloved by all. Noni loved knitting and made lots of hats and blankets for everyone in the family as well as several area charities. In Connecticut, she started “By Hand With Heart”, producing hand-made children’s room accessories. Noni took great pride in preparing many wonderful meals always bringing the family together around the table. The family will have a private service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Baptist Reynolds Hospice House 1520 W. Poplar Ave. Collierville, TN 38017 or the charity of your choice.
