Vincent Salemi's Obituary
Vincent Francis Salemi, Sr., 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on September 20, 2010 after a courageous battle with congestive heart failure. Mr. Salemi spent many years in retail sales and retired from Federal Express. Vince was a proud veteran of WW II and dearly loved his country. He is survived by his beautiful wife of 61 years, Ellen; a brother, Jerry Salemi; a sister, Mary Gervell; three children, Vincent Salemi, Jr. of Memphis, Bob Salemi of Collierville, and Lyn Salemi Wildmon of Olive Branch. He also leaves five grandsons, two granddaughters, three great-grandsons, and three great-granddaughters. Vince was preceded in death by his father, Vincenzo, his mother, Filippe, four of his sisters, Florence Salemi, Lena Foropoulos, Frances Jones, and Catherine Peri. He is a Christian and active member of Gracewood Baptist Church in Southaven, MS. Visitation will be Wednesday, September 22, at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Poplar Ave from 5-8 p.m. Services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 1 p.m., Thursday, September 23, with an additional visitation from 12 p.m. until service time at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
