Victor L. Huddleston's Obituary
Victor L. Huddleston died December 30, 2012 in Memphis. The funeral service will be Wednesday, January 2 at 10 a.m. at Memorial Park Funeral Home with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Private burial will be in the mausoleum at Memorial Park. Mr. Huddleston was a graduate of the University of Tennessee (Knoxville). During World War II he was a Major with the Army Corps of Engineers. He served four of his six years as an instructor on the Staff and Faculty of the Engineer School, Fort Belvoir, VA. He retired from Hunter Fan, Division of Robbins & Myers, where he served as Sales Manager and later as Sales Manager of National Accounts and Government contracts. Mr. Huddleston, a life-long Baptist, served as Chairman of Deacons at Bellevue Baptist Church during the pastorate of Dr. Robert G. Lee. In subsequent years, he was an active member and leader of the Living Word Bible Class and also served for sixteen years as travel coordinator for the Keenagers, Bellevue Senior Adults. In addition, he was a founding member of Second Baptist Church, Memphis, where he served as Chairman of Deacons and subsequently as Chairman of the Finance Committee. He is survived by his wife, Martha D. Huddleston, two daughters, Sandra Kay Parker of Brentwood, TN, and Nancy Martha Bowen of Katy, TX, and five grandchildren, Leanne Johnson of Tarpon Springs, FL, Gregory Parker of New York, NY, Melanie Parker of Brentwood, TN, Margaret Bowen of Katy, TX, and Victor Bowen of Katy, TX, four great grandchildren, and a sister, Irvene Bryant, of Memphis. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Ave, Memphis, TN 38119, (901)767-8930, “Behind the Stone Wall”.
